GAPS Diet

So I've been doing the GAPS diet for almost 3 weeks. I have to say the first two were the hardest. I know I have cheated a little but for the most part I've been doing great by sticking with it. I think the hardest part is that I'm the only one in the family doing it so I'm fixing many meals which is a lot of work. I know in the long run this is going to be great for my body. I was really worried about giving up the grains, starches and sugar but once I got past the 2 week mark things got easier. I do put a little honey in my coffee but that is allowed. I have also started baking bread with almond flour and that has been good too. My birthday is next Monday so I hope to find something yummy to try.

I have to say that it is hard finding pre-packaged foods that don't contain sugar or some sort of grain. I did find some peanut butter that is just nuts and salt so that was great. It's Maranatha creamy peanut better and I love it in my nut butter pancakes.

As far as my symptoms goes, they are getting better. My muscles aches and pains are not as bad and my joint pain is going down. I've lost a few pounds but not as much as I'd like. It's hard getting all the broth in and honestly I'm really bad about drinking it all day. I feel like I would be eating all day if I do this right and I just can't get it all in. I haven't been hungry at all so it's hard to force myself to eat and drink everything.

I'm hoping to bring more scripture in to this but honestly I have been bad about seeking Gods help through this diet. I know He is helping me so I take heart in that but I also know I need to praise Him and seek His wisdom more often. Hopefully my next post will be better.
